It sounds like she has quite a long career ahead, and I look forward to seeing it.Stranger Things Season 4 will release its second volume in July, and then conclude with its final season sometime in the next couple years. You can catch Priah Ferguson right now on Netflix’s Stranger Things and look forward to her future projects with Netflix and beyond. Be sure about what path you want to go on to and do your research. “Know which direction you want to go into… and kind of have your head on straight. RELATED: WATCH THE MAGICAL NEW TRAILER FOR HOCUS POCUS 2 NOW!įerguson also mentioned an upcoming voice role in Netflix’s My Dad the Bounty Hunter and another one she can’t give details on just yet, but the biggest takeaway is that she’s here, she’s working, and she has no plans to stop any time soon. Lastly, the actor offered advice for anyone coming up through the Hollywood system around her age: Stranger Things has put its viewers through the emotional wringer ever since the disappearance of Will Byers kicked off season 1 and hasn’t let up since. The show is well-regarded for its balancing of both light and dark elements, but overall these characters have experienced more traumatic events in a few years than most people do in their whole lives, so hopefully it ends on a somewhat happy note, for them and us. I don’t know, I don’t really have much information about it yet…” Hopefully they end it in a good way and not like a dark and scary way. I think in Season 5, we’ll kind of come to a resolution and it will be a breath of fresh air depending on how they end it. On that note, Priah Ferguson also spoke about how she hopes the series ends in its announced 5 th season, a sentiment many viewers likely share: If the actors don’t sell us the monsters are there, we won’t fear them as much. Thankfully, that hasn’t been a problem for Ferguson or her co-stars since the show began, and likely won’t become one as it reaches its end. Yet another common skill acquired by child actors is the necessity to be able to act off of creatures or events that aren’t really there at a young age. The creatures in Stranger Things obviously aren’t real (as far as we know anyway), so being able to sell the audience that they actually are is pertinent to a show like Stranger Things connecting with us as viewers. “When you’re filming, everything is visual effects…so when you’re filming, you’re literally screaming at a tennis ball on a stand on green screen, and you’ve got to act like it’s this big, scary monster like, choking you or something.” Priah Ferguson also commented on how sometimes, the scariest part of filming Stranger Things can be just acting the script out: RELATED: NATALIE PORTMAN REVEALS THE UNEXPECTED MCU CHARACTER SHE WANTS TO TEAM UP WITH NEXT It’s long been documented how child actors can struggle to maintain their schoolwork while advancing their acting careers, with some even dropping out of the acting game to pursue other fields. However, it sounds as though Priah Ferguson embraces that balancing act and is ready to take anything on, whether it be real or mythical. In between those hours, they’ll call me to go to set… (The teachers) do not play…they are so strict…they’re so protective.” So I have to do three hours of school on-set everyday. I like going to school, and being in-person, and kind of being in the scene. When asked about her day-to-day balancing school and filming, the 15-year-old actor stated: Priah Ferguson On Stranger Things (L to R) Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Joseph Quinn as Eddie Munson, Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, and Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair While Netflix’s smash hit Stranger Thingsis nearing its end, its young yet dynamic cast has warmed its way into audience’s hearts over the past four television seasons and are looking at long careers in the future.Īmong said cast is Priah Ferguson, who plays Erica Sinclair, the younger sister of Caleb McLaughlin’s Lucas in the series. The Atlanta-born Ferguson recently sat down with The Big Tigger Morning Showon the V-103 Atlanta station to chat about filming the show, keeping up schooling, how she hopes the series ends, and more.

The last three years were much less than 2017, when almost half of the U.S. There isn't much territory outside the Mountain West, the far northern tier and northern New England where odds of a white Christmas are greater than 50%. The chances are based on averages from 1991 to 2020. The map below shows the locations with a historical chance of a white Christmas in any given year. Lower chances for a white Christmas exist from portions of the Northern Plains into the upper Midwest, as well as in portions of the interior Northeast. Our white Christmas outlook has the best chance for at least a 1-inch blanket of snow on the ground in the Mountain West and from Montana into northern Michigan, as well as parts of upstate New York into northern New England. It doesn't have to be snowing on the holiday for that to happen. In meteorology, a white Christmas occurs when there is at least 1 inch of snow on the ground on Christmas morning. The Weather Company’s primary journalistic mission is to report on breaking weather news, the environment and the importance of science to our lives. Jacksonville, Florida, missed a white Christmas by a day when an inch of snow fell Christmas Eve morning. In 1989, a pre-Christmas snowfall was followed by a strong arctic cold outbreak that brought both Charleston, South Carolina (4 inches), and Savannah, Georgia (2 inches), their only white Christmases. Brownsville is on the same latitude as Miami, Florida. In 2004 in Texas, Corpus Christi had a record snowstorm (4.4 inches), and Brownsville (1.5 inches) had its first day of measurable snow since 1895. In 2009, Oklahoma City had a snowstorm of record (13.5 inches) and one of only two white Christmases on record occurred in Dallas (2 inches). Three relatively recent events brought an unusual Christmas Day snow cover to parts of the South: Last Christmas, Albany and Syracuse had an inch of snow on the ground Christmas morning, making it an official white Christmas. New York City has seen up to 8 inches on the ground on Christmas (in 1912), and 7 inches is the top Christmas snow depth in Washington D.C. The most snow on the ground in Albany (1966) and Buffalo, New York (2001), on Christmas morning, was 19 inches. The annual probability is based on data from the National Weather Service from 1991-2020. Without having driven another Eclipse, we can't say for sure if our car had been brutally abused at the annual auto-writers' rally, or if it's typical of the Eclipses coming off the assembly line. For example, in cold weather, the sunroof creaked a bit until it warmed up. The braking is passable, with no significant lurching or diving. It grips the road well, but we found the ride to be harsh at times-about what you would expect for a low-slung sports car but not our preference for daily driving. The Eclipse has a sporty handling package, including a very firm suspension. The Eclipse is still a low-slung sports car. Of course, with a ground clearance of just five inches, it's not a car you ever want to take off road or through major snow banks. That's probably its most significant advantage over other, similar sporty coupes. The Eclipse GSX also includes all-wheel drive, which gives the car additional grip, especially in bad weather. The four-cylinder, five-speed turbo-charged engine has plenty of power and acceleration. The 1999 Eclipse has changed little in the previous few years. And now, with all-wheel drive, it lists at over $26,000-so it's no longer a bargain either. It's not a bad sports car for 1999, it's just no longer the stand out it was when it first appeared. And that's exactly where the Eclipse remains today-a magnificent sports car.for 1992. As new cars, like when the updated Ford Probe (may it rest in peace), the updated Honda Prelude and the Mercury Cougar came out, the Eclipse got passed by. It was quick, smooth, lightweight, highly stylish and relatively cheap-priced in the mid- to high teens.īut times change-particularly in the fickle and very fashion conscious sports car market. When the Mitsubishi Eclipse debuted in 1990, it was an impressive little sports car. As the "Star Wars" writers continue to reel from the backlash of the #RoseTicoDeservedBetter movement, there has been a paucity of explanations that can convincingly disprove the suspicion that the creators of "The Rise of Skywalker" were caving to racist and sexist backlash against the character. While it is possible that there were other reasons for Tran's scenes without Fisher to be cut, no explanation has been provided. We adore the character, and we adore Kelly – so much so that we anchored her with our favorite person in this galaxy, General Leia." He added, "The last thing we were doing was deliberately trying to sideline Rose. Those scenes unfortunately fell out of the film." As the process evolved, a few scenes we’d written with Rose and Leia turned out to not meet the standard of photorealism that we’d hoped for. We thought we couldn’t leave Leia at the base without any of the principals who we love, so Leia and Rose were working together. "We wanted Rose to be the anchor at the rebel base who was with Leia. "One of the reasons that Rose has a few less scenes than we would like her to have has to do with the difficulty of using Carrie’s footage in the way we wanted to," Terrio told Awards Daily in an interview published earlier this week. Neither of these scenes involve Rose's interactions with Leia, which undercuts a recent claim made by Chris Terrio, who co-wrote the screenplay for "The Rise of Skywalker," in which he argued that part of the reason her role had been reduced was that it was difficult to attain photorealism in the scenes where Rose would interact with the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa after the actress' death in 2016. They both have the some objective which is to fight for the things you believe in and the people you love." I wish I could tell you more but I’m really excited for people to see interact. "It was really cool to have feminine energy on set. "I think it’s really cool at all that they are even in scenes together because in ‘’ we weren’t in any scenes together," Tran told EW. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in November, Tran alluded to scenes that she supposedly shared with this trilogy's new Jedi knight Rey (Daisy Ridley), even though none of their scenes together made the final cut. This is not the first time that Tran alluded to a scene involving Rose Tico that was filmed for "The Rise of Skywalker" but did not make the ultimate cut. It was definitely organized chaos as stormtroopers were flying, people were on horses. I remember having bruises on my knees the next day because we kept running and then we would fall onto our knees and do some more shooting stuff. It was also insane to be running across this platform - which I know you only see for a second in the movie - but we shot it so many times. “Yeah, it was probably one of the biggest sets I had ever been on,” Tran told The Hollywood Reporter about the Battle of Exegol, one of the climactic action scenes in "The Rise of Skywalker." “It was incredible to see what the stunt teams did. The actress addressed yet another meaty scene she had shot that had been cut from the film. Kelly Marie Tran, the Vietnamese American actress who was on the receiving end of a racist and sexist backlash after co-starring in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" as Resistance mechanic Rose Tico, recently revealed information that appears to undermine the claim of the "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" co-writer who claimed her role was reduced in that film for technical reasons. You can of course use milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or anything such as nuts for these cookies! I love a combination of 150g of chocolate, and 150g of chopped nuts. I feel like they are the perfect marriage with the white chocolate chips that make the cookies oh so gooey! For reference, I use this white chocolate in my baking!īecause the cookie dough uses dark brown soft sugar (to create that much more of a deeper treacle flavour), and the spices, the white chocolate seemed the best contrast! If you fall in this category, look for something that can compress easily such as the Casper Down pillow. The 3” tall pillow should work well for back and side sleeping, but it’s not suited for lightweight stomach sleepers. Lightweight sleepers likely won’t need a booster. Even for larger people, this pillow is just too tall. But again, stomach sleepers won’t enjoy resting on the Purple Pillow. Side sleepers, too, should find they can easily maintain a neutral alignment on this pillow. Back sleepers should gain the right amount of comfort and support from just the 3” layer of hyper-elastic polymer grid. Most people in this category won’t need to add a booster at all. Before we examine the pillow’s construction, let’s check out two of the most important factors: firmness and feel. like most Manifest V3 changes, it seems carefully crafted to cripple ad blockers more than other extensions. Limiting remotely hosted code sounds like a totally reasonable limitation until you realize that. When Manifest V3 becomes mandatory, those updates that need to arrive "at minimum on a daily basis" will no longer be an option. UBlock Origin's FAQ on YouTube's ad blocker detection says, "YouTube changes their detection scripts regularly" and adds that ad block users might briefly be blocked for "brief periods of time after scripts and before we updated our filters." While all players in the space are innovating, some ad blockers are simply unable to keep up with these changes.” To counteract its changes to ad delivery and ad blocker detection, block lists have to be updated at minimum on a daily basis, and sometimes even more often. Ghostery’s director of product and engineering, Krzysztof Modras, said that YouTube is “adapting methods more frequently than ever before. They will all be subject to Chrome Web Store reviews process, and that comes with a significant time delay.Įngadget's Anthony Ha interviewed some developers in the filtering extension community, and they described a constant cat-and-mouse game with YouTube. Manifest V3 will stop this by limiting what Google describes "remotely hosted code." All updates, even to benign things like a filtering list, will need to happen through full extension updates through the Chrome Web Store. Today, ad blockers and privacy apps can ship filter list updates themselves, often using giant open-source community lists. But we haven't talked about the other side of the equation: Ad block rules can't be updated quickly anymore. The new declarativeNetRequest API now has extensions ask Chrome to block a network request on their behalf, features arbitrary limits on the number of filtering rules, and puts limits on how effective individual rules can be. Google's first attack on ad blockers is blowing up the "WebRequest API"-the primary API that ad blockers use-and replacing it with a more limited filtering API that Google has more control over. That's great for protecting privacy, speeding up the web, and blocking ads, but it also means you can download a browser from the world's biggest ad company and use it to block ads-and that was only going to last for so long. The current platform, Manifest V2, has been around for over ten years and works just fine, but it's also quite powerful and allows extensions to have full filtering control over the traffic your web browser sees. If ad blocking is a cat-and-mouse game of updates and counter-updates, then Google will force the mouse to slow down.Ĭhrome's "Manifest V3" makes dramatic changes to the Chrome extension platform. YouTube can instantly switch up its ad delivery system, but once Manifest V3 becomes mandatory, that won't be true for extension developers. In addition to hamstringing Chrome's extension platform with no real user-centric justifications, Manifest V3 will also put roadblocks up before extension updates, which will delay an extension developer's ability to quickly respond to changes. A new article from Engadget detailing the "arms race" over ad blocking brings up an interesting point regarding the power that YouTube and Chrome have in this battle: a dramatic update advantage over the ad blockers. Google's war on ad blockers is just gearing up, with YouTube doing its best to detect and block ad blockers and Chrome aiming to roll out the ad block-limiting Manifest V3 extension platform in June 2024.
